Concrete Delamination Testing

What is Concrete Delamination?

The simple definition for the word delamination is the act of splitting or separating a laminate or solid into layers.

Concrete delamination is caused by the corrosion of reinforcing steel or freezing and thawing. It is similar to spalling, scaling, sand boils or peeling although the damage caused by concrete delamination tends to affect larger areas.

What can we provide?

We can provide a comprehensive concrete delamination test, together with a fully detailed survey report and certification. The report will be with you within 3 working days from the completion of the test in either a physical or digital format to suit you

Cross-Hatch Testing

What is Cross-Hatch Testing?

The Cross-Hatch Test is a method for determining the resistance of paints and coatings to separation from substrates by utilizing a tool to cut a right angle lattice pattern into the coating, penetrating all the way to the substrate.
Detached flakes of coating are removed by brushing with a soft brush. Pressure-sensitive tape is applied over the crosshatch cut. Tape is smoothed into place and the tape is removed by pulling it off rapidly back over itself. The adhesion is then assessed.

Schmidt Hammer Testing

What is Schmidt Hammer Testing?

Schmidt Hammer testing, also known as Swiss Hammer testing or Rebound Hammer, is used to measure the elastic properties or strength of concrete or rock, which mainly consists of surface hardness and penetration resistance. The quality of concrete is mainly judged by its compressive strength which directly affects the load-bearing capacity and durability of concrete structures.
